Why is your name "Jiuzi"?

Geopelia is the main character in Phigros, a free mobile rhythm game. Her name in Chinese is Jiu (鸠), which literally means "dove" or "pigeon" in Chinese. I took her Chinese name and added 子 (zi, Chinese for "child"), just like how some Japanese female names end with that character (mostly pronounced "ko" in this case). That's how my name came to be

How tf do I pronounce your name???

You can pronounce in any way you like, but I prefer "jyoo-zoo". Last syllable isn't "zee", I know. But I think it just sounds cool. But in the end, it doesn't matter how you pronounce my name

Do you have past names?

I have. Only some people know that.

Isn't your name cultural appropriation? You don't seem to be Chinese.

Ik ppl would question me about my online name. It's a somewhat hard decision to use my name "Jiuzi" because I'd run issues like this. Lemme explain a bit.

Yes, in fact, I am NOT Chinese, nor even Filipino-Chinese. I'm rather a full Filipino. Jiuzi is a Chinese-coded name. However. I do NOT have ill intentions towards Chinese people and culture whatsoever to use this name, I only created my name as a homage to a fictional character from a rhythm game I love. I also have NO intention to change my legal name to "Jiuzi"; I'm already proud of my legal name anyway.

If you're still uncomfortable towards my name, you are free to not interact/stop interacting with me or whatever. However, please note that I, again, have no malicious intents of stereotyping, appropriating, fetishizing or otherwise harms the culture of China and similar countries when I created "Jiuzi". I only wanted to appreciate a fictional character whose my name was based on.

What programs do you use?

Krita for drawing, Reaper for music making (even though I actually haven't made music in a while, shh), Nekoweb for hosting (as well as editing) this hellsite, Neocities and Github Pages for hosting the previous iterations of my website, ocenaudio for audio editing, OBS for recording, Kdenlive for video editing (planning to use others though), Firefox for browser, blah blah blah

I love your Krita UI! How did you do the colors!?

There is a file that ends with ".colors" extension when you look inside the "krita" folder (accessed by "%appdata%"). Because Krita is open-source, you can fk around this file as well as others lmao. There's a plugin which lets you edit the theme easier, though. (PC ONLY)

What's the timer used for?

Tracking time in a drawing session.

As stated in my about page, I have been drawing since when I was a toddler. Then I started taking drawing a bit more seriously in 2020.
